"StellarClan cats, retreat!"
"But we haven't collected the herbs we need!" Sunbelly protested.
Shaking his head, he flicked his tail, signaling their leave. "That is not the issue right now." His gaze flickered towards the still body of Ghoststar. He could feel the hate between the two clans rise as they followed his gaze.
"Help the injured back to camp. If we have lost a cat, bring their bodies back to camp. I don't want to know who has joined StarClan until we are back at camp." With that, Greedstar dove out of the enemy camp. He heard the thumpping of his clanmate's paws on the ground as they followed. He slowed once they entered their own territory, giving the injured time to catch up.

Once they reached the camp, Greedstar sat down in front of the high rock. He didn't have the energy to scramble up onto it.
"Greedstar!" Heathercloud's meow bounded around the clearing as she emerged from the medicine cat's den. "Where's Shiningsong?" The long haired she-cat scanned her clanmates for any sign of the medicine cat.
"Here!" Pebblesplash and Troutclaw pushed there way through the crowd, laying her body in front of Heathercloud.
"What?!" Greedstar's eyes blazed angerily as he took in the she-cat's still flank. "You should have informed me that she had joined StellarClan."
"You told us to wait until camp-" Troutclaw began, but stopped once Pebblesplash shot him a warning look.
"S-Shiningsong!" Heathercloud's eyes widened with horror as she held herself back from nosing her mentor. Shiningsong had been sick and it didn't seem like StellarClan had been successful with getting the herbs they needed.
"We also lost Tanpaw," Redclaw meowed as he placed the she-cat's body next to Shiningsong's.
"She'll be with her mentor now," Greedstar frowned as he remembered that Tanpaw had been Ivyflight's apprentice.
Tearing his gaze from his fallen clanmates, he looked up. His gaze focused. "Shiningsong and Tanpaw were killed by enemy cats. They will not be forgotten. We shall sit vigil for them and find away to avenge their unneccessary deaths!"
The cats of StellarClan meowed their agreement. Their
Heathercloud looked over Shiningsong. She didn't have any battle wounds, was it possible that her leader was wrong? Shiningsong had been sick. She shook her head, she'd keep that to herself for now.

(It is short. I didn't know if Tanpaw should die from DuskClan or the sickness, so I'll let you all decide.)
Blackpaw sat away from the other cats, licking her wounds and keeping an eye on her sister. At first she had been excited about the battle, but once she starts fighting the sight of blood and torn flesh horrified ER. She felt she souls be helping cats, not hurting them.
ReplyDeleteSilverpaw lay down, panting. Angry that the older Duskclan apprentice had beaten her she vowed to practice every chance she got.
(so yeah, I'm gonna have Blackpaw become a medicine cat apprentice. So you can take out her crush on her bio, and change her full name to Blackdawn? If the change is okay with you.)
Sunbelly shook his head. "We could have had those herbs!" Though he knew it wasn't true, for he could have never hurt a Medicine Cat. "But I'm just glad that Greedstar was able to show who DuskClan was messing with."
ReplyDeleteWillowfeather slapped her tail across her mate's mouth. "Don't speak of the battle like that!" She said angrily, though her eyes were soft. "We lost 2 brave cats during the battle. We must say our good-byes."
Ashpaw coughed, and stared with horror at a gob of blood in front of her. I need those herbs!
ReplyDelete~Ashpaw
Pebblesplash closed her eyes, a frown on her face. She gently licked Tanpaw's cold fur smooth, saddened that such a young cat had to go so brutally. Duskclan will pay for this, she thought.
~Pebblesplash
Sleetpelt milled around the camp, not sure what to do with himself.
~Sleetpelt
Heathercloud looked away from her mentor's motionless body. She pushed away her grief. Her clan mates needed her, there were wounded cats to take care of and Ashpaw was still sick. She paded over to pebblesplash frowning."Did anyone get badly wounded?"she asked the deputy, not having had the time to look around yet but not wanting to waste a single moment.
ReplyDeleteOakpaw paded hesitently over to Riverpaw."Are you alright?"he asked.
Mousefoot blinked sadly at the deceased cats but didn't approach them. She nudged her kits back into the nursery not wanting them to have nightmares of the battle and dead cats.
Troutclaw looked around the clearing feeling depressed and sadened. He had a few scratches but he didn't feel there stinging.
Pinepaw looked around the clearing as he paded out of the medecine cat's den and sighed in releif when he saw his brother Oakpaw but he gasped when he saw the bodies of Shiningsong and Tanpaw.
Steelkit bounded over to Sunbelly, dragging Soulkit with him. "What happened?" He asked with curiousity.
ReplyDeleteSmokepelt, who had been shocked at the outcome of the battle, looked over at Ashpaw. "We will get those herbs. I might not be the brightest of warriors, but I do keep to my promise. And I promise you that you won't join StarClan anytime soon."
Riverpaw lifted her head and nodded. Tanpaw had been her friend, and it was said to see someone so young join StarClan. "I'm okay."
"Heathercloud," Greedstar called the young she-cat. "Since you are now StellarClan's only medicine cat, ask someone to help you with the injured."
Mousefur closed her eyes in sorrow. She had caused them to loose 2 clan members. If I hadn't stayed behind to hunt, I wouldn't have run into Rowanfur, and he wouldn't have crossed the border.. The herbs! She snapped out of her daze and dashed over to Heathercloud. "Heathercloud, what herbs can help Ashpaw? I'm going out to look for some." She prayed to Starclan Rowanfur would find a place elsewhere to meet.
ReplyDeleteSunbelly turned his attention towards the kits, glad to have someone to talk about the success of the battle. "Those mangy DuskClan cats never suspected us! When we poured through the entrance, you should have seen their faces. The mousebrains didn't know what was coming. And Greedstar showed them who they were messing with in a way no cat could forget. He defeated Ghoststar!" His tail waved in excitement at the thought of defeating another Clan's leader, which caused him to have Willowfeather shoot him an angry glare. "We tried to get the herbs, but the Medicine Cat's were being stubborn. Plus, Greedstar called off the battle before we could get through to them." He lashed his tail in annoyance, talking bitterly.
ReplyDeleteHeathercloud turned tawards Greedstar and noded. She turned to Mousefur."I'm not sure, the ilness..it's strange. But if you could find some catmint, chickweed or tansy, those might help."she mewed quietly. She looked around and spotted Blackpaw, she quickly paded over to her."Blackpaw, could you help me tend to the injured?"she asked.
ReplyDeleteOakpaw noded, and looked sadly at there clan mates dead bodies.
Sunkit and Lilackit looked into the clearing from inside the nursery but only a few moments before their mother noticed and they had to join her in the nest they shared.
Mousefur nodded. "Alright." She turned and headed out of camp and into the forest.
ReplyDeleteBlackpaw looked up at Heathercloud. "Sure!" Her bites and scratches weren't deep, and she would have waited to get them looked at anyway. "Which cats are hurt worst?"
Heathercloud sighed."I wish i knew.do you you think you could go around camp and find out?I'm going to go fetch some herbs from my den and then i'll come join you."she mewed, already hurrying tawards her den.
ReplyDeleteSoulkit listened to Sunbelly's ever word with wide-eyes. "Really? Was it scary?"
ReplyDelete"What are you talking about, mouse brain? Of course it wasn't scary!" Steelkit snapped as he crouched and lashed his tail, pretending to ready himself to attack a DuskClan cat.
Riverpaw looked over at Oakpaw, she wanted to get out of camp. She couldn't witness yet another of her closest friends be buried. "Do you want to go hunting?" She asked.
[Should we add more excitement and have Oakpaw and Riverpaw see Mousefur speaking to Rowanfur or just let it be?]
Blackpaw nodded. "Sure!" She turned and looked at Riverpaw and Oakpaw. "Riverpaw!" She ran over to the two apprentices. "Sorry. Do either of you have any serious wounds?" She asked.
ReplyDeleteSilverpaw rolled onto her stomach and looked at her sister inquisitively. Since when was she do interested in herbs?
(sure ^.^ I'll have Mousefur make up an excuse or something.)
Sunbelly snorted. "Those DuskClan cats didn't have a chance against us! Their Clan is just filled with little mousehearts. I could take 3 at a time!" He gloated, his claws working into the soft ground. "Here, let me draw you a map of their camp so that if we ever invade when your apprentices, you'll be ready." He meowed, already sketching it out in the forest floor. "Over here is the Medicine Cat Den, but it is very well hidden, so when trying to get in, use your nose instead of your eyes." He meowed.
ReplyDeleteOakpaw looked at Riverpaw."Sure."he mewed. He looked tawards Blackpaw."Nope, just couple of scratches."he mewed, and looked back tawards Riverpaw.
ReplyDeleteHeathercloud padded into her den,and over to the packets of herbs she'd prepared. She paused beside Ashpaw's nest."How are you feeling Ashpaw?"she asked gently, not having seen the blood.
"No." Riverpaw shook her head. "I'm fine. Shall we go?" She asked Oakpaw. "We might be able to catch up with Mousefur."
ReplyDeleteSteelkit watched Sunbelly carefully and looked at the map he was sketching out. "Whoa! I bet I could take them huh, Soulkit?"
"Yeah, sure, whatever," Soulkit agreed without looking up from the design.
Oakpaw noded,and stood up."Alright."
ReplyDelete"Now over here, nearest to the entrance, is the warrior's den. Now you have to watch out for these guys. Sure, their Clan's just a couple of weaklings, but they can bowl over a couple of kits. They're the closest to the entrance because if an attack starts, they can be out of their den quickly, and start fighting immediately. It's best to attack a camp at night so that their warriors are confused when they first wake up, making them vulnerable." Sunbelly meowed, rambling on.
ReplyDeleteBlackpaw looked over at Sunbelly and narrowed her eyes, but moved on to Greedstar. "Did you get any nasty bites or scratches?" She asked him.
ReplyDelete[Echo, we can comment on DuskClan's border page as Oakpaw and Riverpaw.^-^]
ReplyDeleteGreedstar shook his head. "No, I'm fine, Blackpaw. Tend to the other cats."
Steelkit listened to Sunbelly, his gaze completely focused on the tom. "Were they vulnerable when we attacked?"
Soulkit, seeing that battle talk was boring, decided he'd curl up for a nap.
"They were a group of blundering badgers! We had the upper paw in this battle, I'll tell you that." The arrogant tom took no notice of Blackpaw's look, for he was still focused on the battle. "There was this one cat that I attacked..." Sunbelly went on, recalling the fight.
DeleteToms. Willowfeather shook her head, and padded over to her mate and Steelkit. "You better not have any wounds, they could have gotten worse while you were talking." She pointed out, her tail-tip flicking.
[Ok.]
ReplyDelete"I can't wait until I get apprenticed with Soulkit. Then we can attack DuskClan together!" Steelkit continued listening in awe of the warrior.
ReplyDelete"You're kidding, right?" Ashpaw said dryly, gesturing to the clumps of dried blood marring the moss from her nest. "It's getting worse." Ashpaw closed her eyes and took a deep, shuddering breath. "I don't know if I can hold on much longer," she said, so softly it almost couldn't be heard. Then her head snapped up and she glared at Heathercloud. "You'd better find a cure. I refuse to die just because I caught some stupid illness."
ReplyDelete~Ashpaw
Pebblesplash's eyes hardened and she stood up. "Sunbelly, take Sleetpelt, Troutclaw, and Hawkeye on border patrol. Starclan knows we need to make it clear that Duskclan is not welcome here. Mousefur, Redclaw, Pinepaw, come with me on hunting patrol. The pile's getting low." The deputy strode out of camp, not bothering to make sure that the patrols had organized themselves.
~Pebblesplash
Sleetpelt noticed that his old travelling companion didn't meet his eyes. She blames me, he thought, and padded dejectedly over to join the border patrol.
~Sleetpelt
Sunbelly scowled as he was taken away from discussing the battle, though was pleased at the same time for being asked to lead a patrol. "Fine," As Sleetpelt padded over, he meowed, "Have you seen Troutclaw and Hawkeye?"
ReplyDeleteTroutclaw paded over to Sunbelly,"Well i'm right here.I don't know where Hawkeye is thought."He mewed.
ReplyDeleteHeathercloud flinched and looked away from Ashpaw,"I'll try my best Ashpaw, but i can't promise you anything."she mewed, determined. But inside her, doupt flickered. If my mentor couldn't find a cure, how in starclan's name can i?she thought. She paded over to where she'd stacked some herbs during the battle with Pinepaw and picked a couple of each. She turned to pad back out into the clearing but paused beside Ashpaw."Since you can't swallow any herbs, try to rest."she mumbled throught the herbs. She looked around for Blackpaw and spoted her near Sunbelly. She paded over to her."Any serious wounds?"she asked, putting the herbs down.
"Silverpaw has some nasty scrathes, but that"s about it." Blackpaw said. "What herbs should be usd for them?"
ReplyDelete"Well at least we have you." The warrior's probably dozing off... What a dormouse! He thought, shaking his head. "We're doing a border patrol along the DuskClan border, by the way." He informed Troutclaw, though his eyes were gazing around the clearing, trying to pinpoint the pale brown tabby she-cat.
ReplyDeleteHeathercloud noded,"I think some marigold would be best, along with some cobwebs for the deeper ones."she mewed, and picked up her herbs. She paded over to Silverpaw and put her herbs down."Blackpaw said you got some nasty scratches."she mewed, already looking the apprentice over.
ReplyDelete"I'm here," Hawkeye meowed as she rose from Redclaw's side. Redclaw also stood. "Mousefur's not in the camp."
ReplyDelete"Aww!" Steelkit meowed as he looked after Pebblesplash. "Why'd you have to do that? Sunbelly was telling me about DuskClan's camp!"
"Good. We're going on a border patrol across DuskClan's border, so let's go." Without waiting for anyone's reply, he began to stroll out of camp.
ReplyDeleteTroutclaw sighed but hurried after him.
ReplyDeleteHawkeye followed Sunbelly and Troutclaw. "Is it wise to go to the border so soon?"
ReplyDelete"Why? Are you scared of a bunch of mouse-hearts?" Sunbelly scoffed, but his eyes twinkled with amusement. "If any DuskClan cats are on our side of the border, they wish they weren't." He meowed, lashing his tail.
ReplyDelete"Of course not!" Hawkeye snapped, her hackles raising defensively.
ReplyDelete"Well then you shouldn't be worried about finding them on our territory. Now let's go, I want to be back to camp by sundown. So no more dilly-dallying." He meowed, irritated, though he seemed to be behaving more like a deputy than a leader of a patrol.
ReplyDeleteTroutclaw paded over to Hawkeye's eye and frowned."Who died and made him Deputy?"He muttered to low for Sunbelly to hear.
