Promises

Hawkeye looked over at Troutclaw as he padded over to her side. "Who died and made him deputy?" He muttered too low for Sunbelly to hear. The pale ginger tabby had been acting like a deputy towards her, and it frustrated her. The only cat she allowed to boss her around, other than Pebblesplash, Heathercloud and Greedstar of course, was Redclaw.
"That's what I'd like to know too." Hawkeye hissed and then replied much louder, "Sunbelly, you are leading this patrol, but you have no right to treat us like lost kits."
Before Sunbelly could retort, Troutclaw stepped in. "Let's just continue this patrol."

I do hope he finds those herbs, Mousefur thought as she weaved through the undergrowth in search of the herbs she knew weren't on StellarClan territory.
She had sent Riverpaw and Oakpaw to hunt on their own. The two apprentices had been close to finding out about her and Rowanfur's secret meetings. But they weren't doing anything wrong, were they? She was actually trying to help her clanmates, and so was he. Letting out a sigh, she let her mind wander.

"We'll be back to camp as soon as we catch enough prey!" Riverpaw called over her shoulder as she and Oakpaw raced through the undergrowth.
Once they were away from Mousefur, Riverpaw slowed until she was walking. "Do you really think that Rowanfur was just being friendly with Mousefur? Our clans were just in a battle with each other and he isn't even friendly with his own clanmates! At least, that's what Wishfeather told me when I was in the nursery still. Something seems off about finding her there."
Oakpaw nodded in agreement. "Until we find out if she was lying or not, we shouldn't tell anyone. Not yet."
"I agree," Riverpaw mewed. "A war within the clan isn't something we need. Especially after the battle between the two clans."

Greedstar began pacing in the clearing, his mind whirling with questions. "Pebblesplash," the black tom finally mewed. "Once everyone is back from their patrols, I want to discuss a future battle plan. I don't know if DuskClan are ever going to attack -- I did take one of Ghoststar's lives, but we need to be ready. If they don't attack any time soon, we will. They killed our medicine cat and they will pay."
Pebblesplash listened to her leader carefully. She didn't know what to make out of it, but she simply nodded.
"Good, you understand." Greedstar stopped pacing to look at the she-cat, his silver gaze growing intense. Without muttering another word, he leaped onto the highstone. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, join beneath the highstone for a clan meeting."
Although some of the cats were out hunting and patrolling, he felt now was probably the best time.
"Heathercloud, Blackpaw, step forward please."
The medicine cat and the apprentice obeyed as they stepped up to the large rock.
"Blackpaw has wished to stop training as a warrior." Greedstar mewed as he rested his gaze on the black she-cat.
There were several shocked whispers as the she-cat turned her attention to Heathercloud and nodded.
Heathercloud stood taller as she spoke. "I know I am young, and I know we just lost Shiningsong, but cats of StellarClan, it is time for me to take on an apprentice. Your next medicine cat will be Blackpaw."
"Blackpaw, do you accept the post of apprentice to Heathercloud?"Greedstar asked.
"I do," Blackpaw mewed with a nod. She was sure this was her path to follow.
"Then at the half-moon, you must travel to [Insert Moon place name here] to be accepted by StarClan before the other medicine cats. The good wishes of all of StellarClan will go with you."
Heathercloud bent down and touched noses with her new apprentice. Soon, a roar of congratulations echoed throughout the clearing.

[I know it's a pretty short post, sorry about that. I also will not be here from Monday(the 20th) to Saturday(the 25th). I'll be extremely busy with this canoe journey thing and I will have no internet connection what-so-ever. From all the days I am gone, feel absolutely free to play any of my cats from any of the clans. Honestly, if it's going to help the storyline better, play them! ^-^]

  1. Pebblesplash smiled and cheered Blackpaw's name, but inside, worry gnawed relentlessly on her insides. How many more cats will die before we get out of this?

Ashpaw slept fitfully in the medicine den.

  2. Silverpaw halfheartedly cheered hedrick sister's name. Part of her felt betrayed, the other half angry. She and her sister had agreed to do everything together, and now they were leading differen lives.
Blackpaw ducked her head and made for her sister. "I'm sorry. I didn't get a chance to tell you. But now you know and really nothing's changed."

  3. "She's training as a medicine cat now?" Steelkit gaped. "Why would anyone not want to be a warrior! That should have been our ceremony!"

Soulkit just sighed. "Calm down, brother. I'm not six moons yet. You're able to be apprenticed without me, just ask Greedstar." Steelkit shook his head and waved his brother's statement away.

"Congratulations, Blackpaw." Smokepelt nodded his head respectfully to the black she-cat.

Riverpaw let out a sigh. "Should we continue hunting, Oakpaw?"

  4. (I hate autocorrect! I don't even know where that word came from! D:)

Blackpaw nodded "Thank you." and flattened her ears when Steelkit's words reached her ears. "You know where to find me." she mumbled before touching muzzles with her sister and following Heathercloud into the medicine den.

Silverpaw bared her teeth in annoyance at Steelkit, and has half a mind to go over there and talk to him, but decided that it wouldn't be the best idea and picked a vole from the fresh-kill pile. That dumb kit cares about no one but his brother and himself. Anyone could see my sister's sensitive abou every little thing. She started eating and soon realized that Blackpaw did care about every little thing.

  5. Pinepaw looked at Steelkit and sighed. There's more to life then just being a warrior.he thought to himself.

Heathercloud smiled and led the way to the medecine cat's den.As she steped inside, she looked imediatly over to where Ashpaw was sleeping. What can i do for her,if she always coughs up the herbs i ask her to eat?She thought, and sighed. Her smile turning into a worried frown.

Mousefoot watched Soulkit and Steelkit from were she sat beside the nursery, one eye still on her playing daughters.

Oakpaw looked at Riverpaw and frowned."I don't think we have a choice.Mousefur will expect us to bring back at least a little prey."He mewed.

  6. [I figured autocorrect was the problem. XD]

Steelkit twitched his ear as he realized that cats other then his brother had heard him.
"You should watch what you say, brother." Soulkit's silver eyes locked on Steelkit's.
    "Why? Everyone here is mouse-brained."
Soulkit just sighed. His brother was being stubborn again.

"Hopefully he'll get a mentor that'll be able to smarten him up," Redclaw muttered to no one in particular.

Riverpaw nodded and than stopped in her tracks. "There's a squirrel nearby," she hissed.

  7. Oakpaw noded, and looked around with pricked ears, trying to pin point it's location. It didn't take long for him to spot it nibbling something at the base of a tree."There."he whispered faintly, pointing at it with his tail.

Troutclaw looked turned tawards Hawkeye,"Don't let mousebrains like him get to you. There not worth it."He mewed to quietly for Sunbelly to hear, before padding forward to catch up to Sunbelly.

Sunkit looked tawards Soulkit from where Lilackit had pinned her down,"Hey soulkit!Do you think you could lend me a paw?"She mewed loud enought for him to hear.

  8. Riverpaw's blue eyes lit up with excitment as she raced forward and leaped. Once her paws hit the forest floor, her excitment dispapeared when she realized that the mouse had escaped. "Hunting is so difficult," she sighed.

Hawkeye shot Troutclaw a grateful gaze. "I deal with mouse-brains quite often." Her mew was amused as she remembered Redclaw, her clumsy kit-hood friend.

"Sure!" Soulkit brightened and raced over to the two she-kit's side. He bowled Lilackit over, his teeth bared in a playful snarl.

[This may be my last reply until Saturday. Like I mentioned above, feel free to play my characters in any of the clans. Really, I don't mind! ^-^]

  9. "Hey, don't think I can't hear you two mouse-brains talking. Hurry up and pay attention. I don't want to be ambushed just because you two weren't looking." He meowed, throwing a glare over his shoulder.

(Same goes for me, since tomorrow I'll be busy packing xP)

  10. Troutclaw looked at Sunbelly, and gave a slight nod.He sighed and looked around.

Lilackit blinked in surprise and then hissed playfuly, jumping back to her paws.

Sunkit stood up and shook the dust from her pelt, she looked at soulkit and grinned."Thanks!"she mewed happily.

Oakpaw looked at her frowning,"It's not that hard.If you'd stalked the mouse more quietly, instead of racing over to it excitedly like a kit, then you'd have caught it."he mewed calmly.

  11. [I'm back~! :D]

Stifling a sharp retort, Hawkeye decided it'd be better to continue without an arguement.

Riverpaw's ears pressed back she became defensive. "I am not like a kit!"

"I haven't played like this in a long time!" Soulkit beamed as he flicked his tail from side to side.

  12. (Welcome Back Alado!)

Oakpaw looked at her still frowning,"No,you were just excited like one."he mewed.

Sunkit smiled,"In that case, want to help me beat Lilackit?"She asked.

  13. [Thanks, Echo! :)]

Steelkit watched from the nursery entrance and scowled. Even his brother was being mouse-brained.

"Okay!" Soulkit leaped up excitedly as he stood beside Sunkit.

She let out a sigh. "I know, I just get clumsy sometimes."

  14. Sunbelly patrolled the DuskClan border thoroughly, stopping at even the slightest scent of their enemy. "It seems like it's clear here." He meowed, eyes narrowed in suspicion for the DuskClan cats. "We should be getting back now."
