Kits to Apprentices, Mousefur's Plan

Sunbelly patrolled the DuskClan border thoroughly, stopping at even the slightest scent of their enemy. "It seems like it's clear here." He meowed, eyes narrowed in suspicion for the DuskClan cats. "We should be getting back now."
Hawkeye nodded her agreement.
"Yes, there haven't been anymore signs of DuskClan on our territory," Troutclaw added.
"Then let's go." With a flick of his tail, Sunbelly began leading the two back to camp.

Once they neared the camp, Greedstar's yowl began rang throughout the clearing.
"It sounds like he's calling another meeting," observed Troutclaw. The three pushed their way through the barrier and into the clearing.

~*~

"Did you hear that?" Riverpaw's ears perked up as she heard Greedstar's yowl.
Oakpaw nodded. "That's Greedstar."
"Should we go back?" Riverpaw asked as she turned her attention back to the tom.
"That would probably be best," he said. Riverpaw looked crestfallen as she realized that she wouldn't have time to try hunting again.
When an idea formed, she brightened slightly. "I know it's Mousefur's job to teach me how to hunt, but she seems to be busy herself, do you mind teaching me? You seem to know a lot about hunting! But before you answer, we should go back to camp. Something exciting must be going on!"

The two apprentices entered the camp just after Sunbelly's patrol. Greedstar was sitting on the highstone as he adressed his clanmates.
"Cats of StellarClan," he began. "I know most of you have probably been pestered or annoyed by these two, especially one in particular. But, today it's time for them to grow up." As he finished his sentence Steelkit and Soulkit were being nudged out of the nursery by Willowfeather and Mousefoot. Steelkit and Soulkit's fur was neatly in place, probably from the two queens, and Riverpaw felt a pang of sorrow as she realized that Wishfeather and Vanstar would not see their sons become apprentices.
"Steelkit, Soulkit, come forward!" Greedstar ordered and the two padded to the edge of the highstone. Although Soulkit appeared calm, his exitement was clear in his olive green eyes.
Standing side by side, Soulkit was much larger then Steelkit and it was odd to think that he was almost a year younger then his brother.

"Steelkit," Greedstar began once more. "Your apprentice ceremony was due many, many moons ago, but you have stayed loyal to your brother and would not leave his side. Steelkit, from this moment on, you will be known as Steelpaw."
"Sleetpelt, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You will be mentor to Steelpaw."
Many cats shot Sleetpelt sympathetic glances.
"He's punishing you for starting the war!" One cat hissed and Steelpaw flattened his ears at the comment.
Greedstar's tail flicked, showing his annoyance.
"Soulkit, from this moment on, you will be known as Soulpaw." Although Soulpaw was also annoyed by the comment, he couldn't help but be happy as he and his brother became apprentices together. "Troutclaw, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You will be mentor to Soulpaw. Troutclaw, you have shown yourself to be a patient and loyal warrior. Do all that you can to pass on what you know down to Soulpaw."
Troutclaw nodded as he and Soulpaw touched noses. Sleetpelt went to do the same to Steelpaw, but the silver tabby turned away. He wasn't in the mood to do anything anymore.
Stifling a sigh, Greedstar ended the meeting. "That is all, clan dismissed."
Steelpaw and Soulpaw's name echoed throughout the clearing as their clanmates cheered.

"Heathercloud!" Blackpaw called from the clearing as she entered the medicine cat's den. The pale creamy she-cat had missed the apprentice ceremony to watch over Ashpaw.
"What is it?" She asked her new apprentice.
"Soulpaw and Steelpaw are now apprentices! Troutclaw is mentoring Soulpaw and Sleetpelt is mentoring Steelpaw," Blackpaw explained.
Heathercloud let out an amused mrow. "Sleetpelt has his work cut out for him. Here, will you help Ashpaw take these herbs? They might just work, but I have my doubts." She nosed a pile of herbs towards the black she-cat.
Blackpaw nodded and proceeded to coax Ashpaw into taking them, but the grey she-cat only spat them back up.
"Nothing's working," Blackpaw hissed in defeat. "The herbs we need are in DuskClan's territory."

~*~

Mousefur was passing the medicine cat's den when she heard. It sounds like Ashpaw is becoming more ill! She thought with horror. Please, Rowanfur! Hurry!
Although she had one more day to meet him, her clanmates couldn't wait any longer. Especially Ashpaw who had survived for this long.
Figuring out that it was the only way, she made up a plan. She would try to sneak into DuskClan's territory to speak to Rowanfur.

[I hope this is okay. I mean, the plot where Mousefur goes into enemy territory. I needed something exciting to happen and StellarClan needed more action. I also decided to make Soulkit and Steelkit apprentices to make it longer.
Also, I'm back from the Canoe Journey. It was really funny. We paddled from Vernon to Penticton for five days. It was really long as well, but fun. Also, if you've heard of the Okanagan Lake Monster or the Ogopogo [Monster Quest and Destination Truth explored it], then you know that it's from Okanagan Lake. We paddled on the OL. It was frightning because of how fast the weather could change. And we also paddled to Rattlesnake Island which is said to be the home of the Ogopogo. ^-^]

  1. [I'm glad your back and that you had fun.^^]

Mousefoot watched Soulpaw and Steelpaw.I wish their mother could have been here to see them. She thought sadly.

Troutclaw smiled at Soulpaw,"How does it feel to finaly be an apprentice?"He asked.

Oakpaw looked at Riverpaw,"Has Steelpaw always been like that?"He asked her.

Pinepaw looked at Silverpaw."Should we make two more nests in the apprentices den for our new denmates?"He asked.

Heathercloud sighed,"I've looked all over the teritory, but i can't find anything that works...I'm afraid your right."She mewed sadly."But we can't stop trying."She added with a glance at Ashpaw.

Sunkit and Lilackit watched Steelpaw and Soulpaw enviously from beside the nursery.

  2. [Thank ya! :DDDD]

"It feels great!" Soulpaw meowed. It was true. He was finally relieved that he wasn't holding his brother back anymore. Seeing Sunkit and Lilackit, he bounded over to them. "I will still promise to play with you two!"

Riverpaw let out a sigh and nodded. "Unfortunately, yes. However, it's only gotten worse since..." She trailed off, figuring he'd no the reason.

  3. Lilackit smiled,"Ok!"she mewed.

Sunkit smiled ,"Will you show us some of the stuff you learn?"She asked eyes shining hopefuly.

Oakpaw frowned and noded."So when do you want to meet up for hunting practice?"He asked.

  4. "Yeah!" Soulpaw grinned. "Of course! As soon as I get back from training whenever Troutclaw takes me I'll teach you!"

With all the excitment, Riverpaw had forgotten. "Oh, yeah! We can go whenever you want."

  5. Sunbelly padded up behind Pinepaw. "No. Someone else can do that. We're going out training. We are-" The tom said gruffly, but Willowfeather padded up beside him before he could finish.

"Sunbelly, the sun is almost down. Don't you think Pinepaw needs to rest? Or what about you? You just got back from a patrol." The Queen said irritably, though her voice was still soft-spoken.

Sunbelly shook his head. "Training should never wait!" He meowed, and flicked his tail on his mate's ear. "Don't worry, we'll be back soon." He turned to Pinepaw again. "I'm going to show you how to fight an enemy if they ambush you in the dark, or just when there isn't enough light to rely on your vision."

  6. (glad you didn't get pulled under by Ogopogo! I'll play Mousefur at the border.. For the time being.)

Blackpaw bent her head down. "Well, we might get a miracle." She said.

Silverpaw lashed her tail. Now I'll have to train with that mouse brain! She growled every time she even thought of Steelpaw's name.

    (have we heard from DawnDragon??)

  7. Ashpaw shut her eyes. She was feeling very, very tired. Blackness was rushing to envelop her, warm and comforting...
Ashpaw's eyes flew open, but she couldn't see. I'm almost to Starclan! she thought, somehow surprised. Fiery determination ripped through her. I won't die! I won't I won't I won't!
    -Ashpaw

Sleetpelt touched noses with Steelpaw and then padded away, emotions roiling inside him. He didn't know what to feel, but he resolved to at least try to train Steelpaw properly.

Pebblesplash gazed around the clearing, frowning slightly.

  8. [One of the elders came onto our canoe and told stories about the Ogopogo and said that if you disprespect him, he'll change the water into enormous waves. I thought, Well, that's kind of silly. The lake is known for it's sudden change of weather... And soon after huge waves almost tipped over our canoe twice. ;n; Although I still don't believe in it.]

Steelpaw sat by himself, a scowl on his face. He didn't want anything to do with the Clan, to him, they were all a nuisance.

  9. Sunbelly sighed. Usually his mate wasn't that annoyed. Must be something with being a Queen. He thought, furrowing his brow. "Anyway," He turned back to Pinepaw. "Let's get going." But a low hiss from Willowfeather interrupted him. Why is she mad at me?! Was his first thought. "Willowfeather! What's wrong?" He said, exasperated.

Willowfeather squeezed her eyes shut, trying to breath in and out. "It's not you, it's-" But another jolt of pain interrupted her. She slowly sank to the ground, the pain almost weighing her down. She then snapped her head back up to Sunbelly. "Don't just stand there! Get somebody!"

  10. Mousefoot paded quickly over to Willowfeather,"Do you want me to help you back to your nest?"She asked.

Pinepaw looked at Willowfeather and then at his mentor."I'll go get Heathercloud and Blackpaw!"He mewed quickly, and bounded over to the medecine cats den.He quickly looked inside, for his sister."Heathercloud,Willowfeather's kits are coming!"He mewed.

Heathercloud looked up from where she was sitting near Ashpaw and frowned."I'll be right there.I just need to fetch some herbs first."She glanced at her apprentice apoligicly."I'm afraid you'll have to stay here with Ashpaw."She mewed.

Troutclaw paded over to his apprentice,"It's getting late,so we'll start tommorow morning at dawn sharp."He mewed.

Oakpaw looked at Riverpaw and noded.

  11. "Okay!" Soulpaw trembled with excitment.

"I'll be right back," Riverpaw told Oakpaw as she bounded into the medicine cat's den. "I can stay with Ashpaw if you'd like. I was going to come and visit her anyways."

  12. Cranepelt stretched in the languid sunlight, her thick gray fur ruffling on her spine. She returned back to a standing position, watching as Soulpaw and Troutclaw conversed near the entrance to the Clan.
Glancing over her shoulder, she turned and padded toward the fresh kill pile, choosing a sparrow and dragging it out by it's wing.

  13. Willowfeather nodded, pain like lightning striking her, making her almost unable to walk.

Sunbelly's eyes widened. "Uh.." What do I do?! Even though he knew Pinepaw had already gotten the Medicine Cats, he raced after them. "Heathercloud! Blackpaw! Come quickly!" He almost yowled, his tail lashing in the air with worry.

  14. "Calm down, Sunbelly," Redclaw meowed as he walked over. "You're only going to become a bother to Willowfeather. Now come on, let's go for a walk. Maybe we'll find a nice plump mouse for Willowfeather."

    ReplyDelete
  15. Sunbelly nodded. "Yeah, that would be good...." He straightened himself up, recovering. "Yes, I'm sure she would appreciate that." He meowed, his mouth watering at the thought of prey.

  16. "Let's go," Redclaw couldn't hide the amusement in his voice as he headed towards the entrance.

[I don't know how active I will be for awhile. I started school and it's already tough. Also, my grandma died two days ago and with my culture [Native Americans/Natives/Aboriginals/whatever you wanna call it], we do a lot of traditional stuff, and I've been super busy this week. Also, her funeral is on Friday, so I definitely won't be online.]

  17. Sunbelly lifted his nose in the air, trying to scent for rabbits. Willowfeather's favorite... Don't know why though... I'd prefer a good plump vole. He thought, narrowing his eyes as he tried to look for any scurrying in the undergrowth.

  18. Oakpaw watched Riverpaw and his usual frown was broken by a small smile. It didn't last long thought And soon he was frowning again. Heathercloud looked at Riverpaw and noded reculently."Alright.Just don't get to close to her and come get me if she seems any worse."She mewed. She took a few moments to grab some herbs and then bounded out of her den,and tawards the nursery. Mousefoot blinked sympatheticly at Willowfeather as she helped the queen into the nursery. Pinepaw watched his litter mate bound out of the den with her apprentice. He looked at Riverpaw,"Do you want some company?"He asked. Troutclaw smiled at his apprentice's enthusiasm and paded over to the fresh kill pile.He picked up a rabbit and then paded over to Hawkeye."Want to share?"He asked.(Sorry I haven't been on.My computer isen't working very well.)

  19. Willowfeather nodded, waves of pain still striking her, though she was able to make it to her nest with the help of Mousefoot and Heathercloud. "Thank you," She breathed, her eyes widened in pain.

  20. Heathercloud, lay one of her paws very gently on Willowfeather's side. The contractions were very close together."It won't be long now."She mewed softly, taking her paw away.

Mousefoot sat down near Willowfeather,"Your doing great Willowfeather."She mewed.

  21. Willowfeather nodded, but didn't say anything and closed her eyes for a moment. She widened them with a start after a wave of pain struck her, and began to claw at her nest, until the first kit slid out, onto the ground. Willowfeather barely got to look at her newborn before the other contractions started, and she bit back the urge to yowl in pain. After a few more moments(or hours, probably takes longer to deliver kittens xP), the second one slid out, and Willowfeather lay in her nest, panting.

Sunbelly paced restlessly outside the nursery, desperately wanting to see his mate.

  22. "Sure!" Riverpaw smiled.

"Oh," Hawkeye blinked her blue eyes with surprise and nodded. "Okay."

[I am EXTREMELY sorry for not being active! I have not had time at all to come online. School is insane right now. I really wish I was still in middle school. Grade 11 is too stressful.]
